Container placement

What is it?

To collect and transport large commercial waste streams such as residual waste, bulky waste, paper, foil, iron, electrical appliances, pruning waste, soil, rubble, wood, construction and demolition waste, etc., you can use a container.

It is prohibited to place a container on the road or part of the road without a permit.

How does it work?

Only a container company can apply for a permit and not a citizen of Kerkrade municipality.

When ordering a container, ask if the company holds a container permit issued by Kerkrade municipality.

What does it cost?

To place a container, you pay a fee to the municipality. You pay for issuing a permit to place a container. You also pay taxes through the BsGW.

Temporary permit

For a temporary permit, you pay €26.50 to the municipality. In addition, you pay €3.35 tax per container per day through the BsGW (amounts 2025).

Annual permit

For an annual permit, you pay € 59.95 to the municipality. In addition, you pay per permit holder per year € 84.10 tax through the BsGW (amounts 2025).

Additional information

The container company, being the permit holder, must report to the municipality which days a container is placed at which address. If they do not report this, the annual amount of precario tax is automatically withheld.
