Loneliness Awareness Week is just around the corner: Let’s get together in Kerkrade!

From September 24 through September 30, Kerkrade will be celebrating the Week Against Loneliness. With the theme “Kerkrade Meets,” the focus this week is on meeting others and building connections. After all, everyone needs people around them and a place where they feel welcome.

Caring for One Another

Loneliness isn't always obvious. Yet many people experience it at some point in their lives. Young people, adults, and older adults can feel lonely, even when they're surrounded by others.

A friendly conversation, a listening ear, or doing something together can make a big difference. That’s why it’s important to look out for one another and stay in touch.

Meet Kerkrade

During Loneliness Awareness Week, it’s all about connecting with others. Under the theme “Kerkrade Connects,” residents are invited to participate in activities, meet new people, and strengthen existing relationships.

Encounters, big or small, foster connection. They help bring people closer together and contribute to a warm and engaged community.
