Third KWIEK exercise route opened in Eygelshoven

On Oct. 1, Alderman Jo Paas was privileged to open the third KWIEK exercise route in Kerkrade at Laethof in Eygelshoven. During a festive gathering, the walking and exercise route was officially opened.

What is a KWIEK exercise route?

KWIEK is a walking and exercise route that takes advantage of neighborhood street furniture. Follow the route and train your balance, strength and endurance. Fun to do and good for body and mind. The route consists of an 800-meter loop.

How do I recognize the KWIEK exercise route?

The route is marked with orange and white arrows on the sidewalks and special tiles with assignments. The start and finish are at the entrance to the Laethof community care center, Putstraat 1 in Eygelshoven. There is an information board there with an overview of the route.

Who is the KWIEK exercise route for?

The route is primarily intended for Laethof residents and visitors. But now that the route is in place, anyone can use it.

How did the route come about?

Employees of MeanderGroep took the initiative. The VIE, Living in Motion program provided a subsidy. The Municipality of Kerkrade helped with the design and construction of the route.
