Donation of bicycles to Relim at the Fietspunt

Yesterday morning, Alderman Roland (Social Health) handed over a group of abandoned bicycles to Relim at the Fietspunt. Bicycles that would otherwise remain unused are now given a second life with families who desperately need them.

These are bicycles that have been removed from public spaces by law enforcement and have not been collected after the legal retention period. By giving these bicycles a sustainable and social purpose, we are turning them into something valuable again.

Through Stichting Leergeld, bicycles are made available to children and adults for whom owning a bicycle is not a given. A bicycle makes a big difference: it increases the mobility, independence, and opportunities of children and adults, making it easier for them to go to school, work, or activities and participate in society.

By working together, we ensure that good bicycles are not lost, but instead offer new opportunities.

Alderman Roland: "For many children and families, a bicycle is not a luxury, but a key to participation. To school, to sports, or to work. That's why it's great that, together with our partners, we are ensuring that these bicycles end up with people who really need them."

Thanks to Fietspunt, Relim, Stichting Leergeld, and enforcement for this wonderful collaboration.
