First home: Kerkrade continues to support starters with starters loan
The Municipality of Kerkrade continues to support first-time buyers in buying their first home. We do this with a starters' loan. Since 2008, we have already been able to help more than 250 starters and we will continue to do so.

It has been possible to apply for a starters loan in Kerkrade since 2008. Since then, a total of over €1,750,000 in starters' loans has been provided. In total, until the end of 2023, we have given more than 250 starters an extra helping hand in finding their first home in Kerkrade.

Briefly explained, the starter loan is an additional loan on top of the mortgage. To make the purchase of a first home possible. The loan runs for 30 years. The first three years you pay no interest and repayment.
With a starters loan you can buy a house of up to € 245,000, - (including improvement and additional costs). You can then borrow a maximum of € 49,000, - for this. The municipality pays 25% of this amount and the province pays 75%. The starters loan is taken out under National Mortgage Guarantee.
