Energy surcharge 2022 - 2023
Energy prices have risen sharply. Low-income households therefore receive an energy surcharge from the government. This energy surcharge is for paying for high energy costs. More than 95% of our residents who can apply to the municipality for the 2022 energy surcharge have now done so. "Take advantage of it, it's there for you," said Alderman John Roland.
The Alderman is urging residents to submit one or even several applications. We recommend that you set aside the amount to pay your energy bill. In addition to the energy surcharge, there are other provisions for paying your energy bill.
Advance 2022/2023
You can still apply for energy allowance 2022 until July 1, 2023. The energy allowance 2022 applies to households with an income up to 120% of the social assistance standard who meet the Requirements for the energy allowance 2022. Households that have received the 2022 energy allowance and still meet the Requirements will automatically receive an advance payment of €500 from the 2023 energy allowance in April. You do not have to do anything for this. You will receive another letter about this.
Energy surcharge 2023
The 2023 energy surcharge cannot yet be applied for. It is not yet known when you can apply for it. The Rijksoverheid is still working on the law needed for this. We will inform you when more is known about applying for the 2023 energy surcharge.
Households receiving the €500 advance payment in April will still be eligible for €800 after the summer if they meet the new Requirements . Households that did not receive the €500 advance will be eligible for €1,300 after the summer if they meet the new Requirements .
Temporary Emergency Energy Fund
There are times when you do what you can to save energy, but you still can't pay the bill. Then there is the Temporary Emergency Energy Fund. From this fund, the Rijksoverheid and energy suppliers may pay part of the energy bill.
Special assistance energy costs
Have you already applied to the Temporary Emergency Energy Fund, and you still cannot pay the energy bill? Then you can apply to our municipality for special assistance with energy costs if your income does not exceed 130% of the social assistance standard.
Even if you received a denial from the Temporary Emergency Energy Fund, you may be eligible for special assistance with energy costs if you meet the Requirements.
