Schedule Announced

The ’t Kirchroa va Mörje Festival is buzzing with activity everywhere. With no fewer than 25 events, the festival spans the entire city of Kerkrade. Be inspired by events such as the culinary walking tour “Koelieneer sjpatsere noa mörje” (A Culinary Stroll Toward Tomorrow), the bike tour “Da’s zo gefietst” with Arno Deckers, the symposium “Working Toward the Green City,” the bus tour “Óngerweëgs noa Mörje” (On the Way to Tomorrow), and the Heritage Story Chest. Join the City Safari, create the most beautiful designs at RD4 during the “From Book to Flower” workshop, and learn how to prepare delicious dishes with less waste. Try your hand at wool felting, discover which herbs you can use in a home first-aid kit, or enjoy the impressive film *The Wild North Sea*. Will you also vote for one of the nominees for the ’t Kirchroa va Mörje 2026 Award?

During the festival, you’ll discover how small, practical choices can make a difference. You’ll get ideas on how to give items a second life, reduce waste, and get more out of your home and garden. You’ll also learn how more greenery and smart solutions can help during hot summers and heavy rain. There’s plenty to experience.

This year, special attention will be given to children

Especially for this edition, there are additional activities for children, both during the festival and at schools in the surrounding area. Alderman Nicolle Heijltjes is pleased about this: “As a mother of two young children, I know how much fun it is to go out together and discover new things. That’s why we’ve added extra activities for children this year.”

Whether you’re coming to learn something new, find inspiration, take a workshop, or just enjoy a fun day out: there’s something for everyone at the festival. Together, we’ll show that with handy and fun tips, you can not only reuse items but also help create a pleasant, green, and enjoyable living environment—both now and in the future.
