Using (photo) material from the municipal archives

Would you like to use (photographic) material from the municipal archives or the image library? If so, you can request a copy from the municipality. You can do this via our contact form

There are rules for using this material:

• If you want to publish material from the Kerkrade Municipal Archives, you must specify in your request what you are using it for, for example:
  • Commercial publication
  • Non-commercial publication
  • Historical research
  • Historical publication
  • Private use
• If the Municipal Archives owns the material, you will be given permission to use it once. Do you want to use it again later? Then you must submit a new application again.
• If the material belongs to someone else, you must include written permission from that person with your request. If published, you must credit the owner as the source.
• If you publish the (visual) material in print, please provide two copies of the publication to the Kerkrade Municipal Archives free of charge. If you publish it online, please send the link to the page where you have posted the material via our contact form.
