Data protection officer (FG) municipality of Kerkrade

At the Municipality of Kerkrade, we have two data protection officers (FG). One FG focuses on protecting personal data under the AVG. The other FG focuses on protecting personal data under the Wpg. 

What does a Data Protection Officer do?

The Data Protection Officer of the Municipality of Kerkrade has the following duties:

• Inform and advise municipality employees and administrators on requirements and obligations of privacy legislation (AVG and Wpg);
• Monitor the municipality's compliance with privacy laws and its own privacy policies. This includes raising awareness about privacy;
• Advise on a "data protection impact assessment" (also called a Privacy Impact Assessment or a Data Protection Impact Assessment);
• Consultation with the Personal Data Authority (AP).
