Data protection officer (FG) municipality of Kerkrade
The municipality of Kerkrade has appointed a Data Protection Officer (DPO). The DPO oversees the protection of personal data within the municipality, both for processing activities subject to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and for those subject to the Police Data Act (Wpg).
What does a Data Protection Officer do?
The Data Protection Officer of the Municipality of Kerkrade has the following duties:
- Inform and advise municipality employees and administrators on requirements and obligations of privacy legislation (AVG and Wpg);
- Monitor the municipality's compliance with privacy laws and its own privacy policies. This includes raising awareness about privacy;
- Advise on a "data protection impact assessment" (also called a Privacy Impact Assessment or a Data Protection Impact Assessment);
- Consultation with the Personal Data Authority (AP).
