Handicapped parking
What is it?
A disabled parking space is a parking space for people with physical disabilities. Other drivers are not allowed to park their cars here.
You can apply for your own disabled parking space near your home or workplace to the municipality. You will then be given a reserved parking space where only the vehicle with your license plate may park.
How does it work?
Requirements for applying for a handicapped parking space are:
- You own a car, moped or disabled vehicle
- you do not have your own parking space (e.g. driveway or garage)
- You hold a disabled parking permit as a driver
- If the disabled parking permit issued to you has expired, is not renewed or the holder dies, the reserved disabled parking space created will be cleaned up.

You log in with your DigiD. You will immediately receive a confirmation of receipt by e-mail.
What should I bring?
- (Copy of) your disabled parking permit
- Statement from your employer, if you want the parking space at your workplace.
What does it cost?
Processing a request for the construction of a disabled parking space costs €68.50 (rate 2025). The construction fee for a disabled parking space is € 313.30 (rate 2025).
How long does it take?
Within 8 weeks, you will receive a response to your application. After that, it will take several weeks for the parking lot to be constructed.
