What is it?

Buildings, bridges or overpasses occasionally need their exteriors cleaned. This can cause environmental pollution. For example, if you let the waste water run off into the soil or sewers. Others may also be inconvenienced by the noise of the cleaning equipment. Or from the dust released. This is why you must report the work.

Are you working near open water, such as a ditch? Wastewater should not get into that. If you cannot prevent this, you may need a water permit. You can do the online check if you are not sure.

You do not need to report cleaning work that recurs frequently. For example, window cleaning.

What should I bring?

To report that you will be cleaning facades, please provide:

  • name, address and phone number of the cleaning company
  • where the cleaning will take place
  • when you will perform the work
  • Why the cleaning is needed (for example, because of a major cleaning)
  • how you will clean (the cleaning method) and why you choose this method
  • How you will dispose of the waste products
  • if you are going to discharge (waste) water: what wastes are in the water and how you are going to discharge the water
  • How to prevent noise and dust from disturbing the environment
  • possibly: how you will protect the soil
