Room rental and residential division
- Definition room occupancy: The occupancy of an un-self-contained dwelling.
- Definition room rental: The renting out of a non-self-contained housing unit.
- Definition housing conversion: The conversion of a dwelling into one or more non-self-contained dwelling units for rooming.
- Definition residential subdivision: dividing an existing dwelling into multiple dwellings.
Room occupancy, room rental and home conversion are not allowed in Kerkrade municipality.
This is stipulated in the Urban Area Umbrella Plan Kerkrade 2018 and in the General Municipal Ordinance (APV).
Residential subdivision is not allowed in the municipality of Kerkrade. This is stated in the Parapluplan Stedelijk Gebied Kerkrade 2018
On May 31, 2023, the municipal council adopted the "Policy Rule on Residential Division and Change of Use to Residential Municipality of Kerkrade 2023. This sets out the Requirements under which the municipality can cooperate with division or conversion.
