Kerkrade receives approximately €116,000 government contribution for 20 rental homes Industriestraat in Spekholzerheide
City Region Parkstad Limburg will receive 1.8 million euros from the state to build affordable and suitable housing for starters and people with low and middle incomes. This involves 314 new homes in six new construction projects in Brunssum, Heerlen, Kerkrade, Landgraaf and Simpelveld.
Alderman Tim Weijers (chairman of the Executive Committee for Housing and Restructuring of Stadsregio Parkstad Limburg): "The granting of this national subsidy proves once again that national regulations can also be used for difficult housing projects outside the Randstad, as long as you organize it smartly together. It is recognition for this way in which we work together decisively in a regional context on the housing task."
New construction plan Industry Street
Kerkrade will use the €116,160 received for the new construction plan located on Industriestraat. A new small-scale residential courtyard will be created here, where 20 rental homes (some of them life-long) will be built this year. The homes will be of three types. Completion is scheduled for spring 2025. The rental homes are intended for different target groups such as starters, move-up buyers and seniors.
