Fewer welfare claims, more people employed by 2024
Last year, more people from welfare were helped into work than in the previous year. 130 people found a job and 10 young people went back to school. The method used by the municipality in guiding people to work has now fully proved itself.
In 2024, the Department of Work and Income received a number of notifications for welfare benefits, of which just under half were awarded. This is a decrease from 2023, when more reports were received and more benefits were awarded.
Since June 2023, telephone triage has been used. As a result, clients are helped faster and referred to the appropriate schemes more quickly. From 2025 there will be a broader record of which other facilities clients have been referred to.

Outflow to work and training was also successful. In 2024, 130 people found jobs, half of them fully and half of them partially out of welfare. In addition, 10 young people went back to school in August with the help of youth counselors. A total of 140 people flowed out to work or training. This resulted in significant savings.
Using a variety of different methods and helplines, the municipality helps people get started. From speed dates with employers to a job information market, from workshops to help with self-development. In 2025, the approach will be continued and expanded. A cooperation with Meander for apprenticeships in Health was started in 2024. Furthermore, an early pre-apprenticeship program is initiated with clients. This includes working on skills, taxability and work rhythm.
