NK Tile-Flipping Fall Promotion Almost Full: Sign Up Now

Residents still have until July 1 to sign up for the fall edition of the NK Tile-Flipping Championship. Don’t wait too long, because 87 of the 100 available spots have already been filled. So if you still want to participate, you’ll have to act fast. Spots are limited!

Last spring, the Dutch Tile-Flipping Championship in Kerkrade was a huge success. During the planting days, 60 facades and front yards were greened. Many residents replaced tiles with plants, helping to make Kerkrade greener.

More Green Spaces in the City

Through the NK Tegelwippen initiative, residents can replace pavers in their front yards or garden areas with a free plant package. Having more greenery in the city offers many benefits. It creates a pleasant living environment, helps combat summer heat, and allows rainwater to seep into the ground more effectively.

Planting days in fall 2026

Planting days are on Saturday mornings from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. 

  • Kerkrade East – September 19, 2026
  • Kerkrade North – September 26, 2026
  • Kerkrade West – October 3, 2026
