Nominate your young hero for the JONK Award!

Do you know a young hero from Kerkrade who volunteers selflessly to help others? For example, within an organization or sports club, for people in the neighborhood, or in some other special way for our beautiful city? If so, now is the perfect time to nominate that person for the JONK Award.

Some young people in Kerkrade go out of their way to help others and contribute to the community. For example, they volunteer with the Scouts, selflessly help out at a sports or music club, volunteer at the library, or organize a fundraiser for a good cause. Sometimes they do this on their own, and sometimes together with others. Through their efforts, they make Kerkrade a little better every day.

The JONK Award is the new name for the youth award we have been presenting annually since 2011. The name has changed, but the goal remains the same: to recognize and reward young people for their volunteer work and selfless dedication, and to show how valuable their contributions are.

Anyone can nominate someone

Anyone can nominate a young hero for the JONK Award. Whether you’re a Scout leader, teacher, family member, friend, neighbor, or just someone in the community: do you know a young hero who goes above and beyond to help others or our beautiful city of Kerkrade? Then nominate them for the JONK Award! The award can be given to a single person or to a group of young people who are working together.

Nominate Your Young Hero

You can nominate a young hero through October 12. Fill out the online nomination form at www.kerkrade.nl/jonkaward and explain why your candidate deserves the JONK Award. You can also find more information there.

After the deadline, a panel of experts will review all entries and make a selection. The winners will be honored at a festive ceremony in November during the official awards ceremony. The date of the ceremony will be announced at a later time.
