Flexiforum Live Concert Venue
The City of Kerkrade wants young people to feel at home in Kerkrade. That is why the city plans to expand and strengthen the existing range of youth activities and create an accessible pop music venue in the Flexiforum: Flexiforum Live!
This music venue gives young people the opportunity to actively engage with music and culture all year round. It provides a space for learning, talent development, and participation. In this way, Flexiforum Live! contributes to creativity, talent development, meaningful leisure activities, social interaction, and a sense of community in Kerkrade and the surrounding region.
The music venue will be geared primarily toward children and young people, but people of all ages and other target groups are also welcome. It’s a place for music, socializing, and personal growth. Truly a venue for and by the city.
Flexiforum Live! will expand from the existing rehearsal spaces of the Kerkrade Pop Music Foundation (SPK) at the Flexiforum. Events will be organized by and from the Flexiforum. Services such as lighting, sound, catering, and cleaning can be arranged through the Flexiforum.
The building’s central hall is used flexibly for concerts and performances, which usually take place on weekends. During the week, the building remains available to businesses, community organizations, and for social gatherings. Small-scale activities can also take place during the week without causing any inconvenience to other users.
Flexiforum Live! is intentionally a social initiative and not a commercial venture. The concert venue will be subject to the regulations governing para-commercial institutions.
Effective organization requires professional guidance, with sufficient staff and good coordination. It is also important for the program to be varied. This ensures that no single musical style dominates and that the offerings remain broad, inclusive, and relatable to all target audiences.

There will also be an opportunity to ask questions, share comments, and engage in conversation with one another.
Still to do: Council Resolution - Completion date
On July 1, 2026, the municipal executive will submit a proposal to the city council to make a final decision on the establishment of the foundation and the investments needed to launch the concert venue.
