Rodahal now officially bears the national historic landmark plaque

At the end of 2025, the Rodahal was designated a national historic monument by the Minister of Education, Culture, and Science, making it one of the newest national historic monuments in the Netherlands. 

On Wednesday, August 26, the official historic landmark plaque was unveiled in the presence of Alderman , Raoul Vinken (Culture), Jo Wachelder, and Job and Stijn Bisscheroux, the two sons of architect Laurens Bisscheroux. It was a special moment for Kerkrade. 

The Rodahal has been recognized for its special significance as an event venue—particularly for wind music—as well as for its distinctive architecture. This is a wonderful recognition for a place that holds a special place in the hearts of many Kerkrade residents.
