More and more encounters at 't Patronaat thanks to 'Kom op de Soep'
What started as a simple way to meet people has grown into a weekly highlight at ’t Patronaat, attracting more and more residents. “Kom op de Soep” brings neighbors together every Tuesday to enjoy freshly made soup and a sandwich. And recently, it’s also been held every Thursday “Come for Coffee.”
Since September 2025, every Tuesday between 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m., a team of dedicated volunteers has been on hand at ’t Patronaat to serve a fresh soup of the day. Thanks to the reasonable prices, the event is open to anyone who fancies a warm bowl of soup and a chat. Alderman stopped by last Tuesday to thank the volunteers for their efforts.
New: “Come Over for Coffee” on Thursdays
The success of “Kom op de Soep” has since led to new ideas and an expansion of the program. Recently, volunteers from Club Bleijerheide, in collaboration with Impuls, have also started organizing “Kom op de Koffie” at ’t Patronaat on Thursday mornings between 12:00 PM and 3:00 PM. This is also an informal gathering where local residents can drop by in a relaxed setting for a cup of coffee and an introduction to the activities in the building. With this expansion, ’t Patronaat hopes to further pique residents’ curiosity and encourage even more people to come on in.
Everyone is welcome
Whether you’re in the mood for a hot lunch, looking for some company, or just curious about what’s going on at ’t Patronaat: all residents are warmly welcome. The organizers emphasize that you’re more than welcome to drop by.
