Structural Vision

The Kerkrade 2010-2020 Structural Vision was adopted in 2011.

The Kerkrade Structural Vision 2010-2020 is a municipal strategic policy document which outlines the considerations and choices for the next ten years. This "steppingstone" of all the municipality's plans is a guiding document which clearly indicates the social, economic and spatial policy the municipality is pursuing. The vision paints a picture of Kerkrade, of its origins and of the way in which the municipality intends to work with residents and other parties over the next few years. Kerkrade's ambition is to be a European and hospitable town.

Spatial developments, including the transformation task, are worked out in district visions for the West, East and North districts, which are then legally recorded in zoning plans. The municipal structural vision and new district visions form the framework for spatial plans, initiatives and implementation program.

The Kerkrade Structure Vision 2010-2020 came into force on June 2, 2011, following its publication on June 1, 2011 in the Stadsjournaal and Staatscourant. The vision does not contain binding planning regulations. No objection or appeal is therefore possible against the adoption of the structural vision.
