European Social Fund (ESF) grant

Kerkrade municipality receives European Social Fund (ESF) grant

The ESF is the main European fund for supporting employment. The ESF helps people in Europe find and keep jobs. It ensures that everyone in the EU has a fair chance of getting a job. And is especially designed for people who are struggling to find a job.

Companies and organizations can apply for money when implementing policies. That money is for projects that ensure that people can continue to work healthily and well, also in the long term. The Municipality of Kerkrade also receives funding from the European Social Fund.

Organizations could apply for the ESF Social Inclusion Grant 2023-2025 for projects designed for people who are already employed. Such as projects that ensure that people can stay healthy and work well.

The 2021-2027 ESF grant focuses more on people who have difficulty finding jobs. The goal is to help them find work to fill open vacancies. This is especially important in sectors with high staffing needs.

This is what the municipality of Kerkrade is doing with the money from the European Social Fund

ESF social Inclusion 2023-2025 for Labor Market South Limburg

Gemeente Kerkrade wants everyone to be able to participate in society, including people who are struggling. This is why the municipality uses the ESF subsidy to help residents who have little contact with others or are unemployed. This is done through simple guidance and activities, such as volunteer work and projects to live healthier lives.

The municipality also helps people get the right help, for example with money problems, psychological complaints or learning the Dutch language. With personal guidance, the municipality ensures that people can live independently and continue to participate.

The goal is to help people grow, make their lives more stable and actively participate in society.

ESF+ 2021-2027 for Labor Market South Limburg

The South Limburg labor market region, which includes the municipality of Kerkrade, wants to reduce (youth) unemployment and help people who are having difficulty finding jobs.

With money from the European Social Fund (ESF), these people get help finding suitable training or work.

To do this well, the three areas Maastricht-Heuvelland, Parkstad and Westelijke Mijnstreek are working together. This ESF project also strengthens cooperation between organizations in the region.
