Municipal election 2026
Help decide on your neighborhood
On Wednesday, March 18, 2026, there will be elections for Kerkrade City Council members. These council members make decisions that are important to the municipality. By voting, you elect people who represent your opinions and interests. This gives you influence over what happens in your neighborhood.

To vote in the Kerkrade municipal election, you must:
- Be eighteen years of age or older;
- are not excluded from the right to vote.
- live in the municipality of Kerkrade. You are eligible to vote in the municipality of Kerkrade if you are registered by February 2, 2026, at the latest. If you move to Kerkrade after this date, you can only vote in your former municipality of residence.
- If you are a non-EU resident, have lived lawfully in the Netherlands for at least 5 years prior to the election.
Everyone eligible to vote will receive a voting pass at least two weeks before the election. On the Friday before the election, you will also receive a list of candidates, the addresses of polling stations and the opening hours of regular and mobile polling stations.
