Neighborhood Prevention Team

Together we make the neighborhood safe! Everyone wants to live and live safely. Police and the municipality do all they can to make and keep Kerkrade safe and livable. We can make good use of residents' help in doing this.

Residents are the ears and eyes of the neighborhood and district. Passing on reports and signals are very valuable. This allows us to investigate and take action where necessary. Together we make the neighborhood safe and livable! Every part (west, east and north) of Kerkrade has a neighborhood prevention team. We want to expand the prevention teams with residents to work together to make the neighborhoods even safer.

What does the neighborhood prevention team do?

A neighborhood prevention team consists of a group of active residents who make weekly rounds through the neighborhood. For the municipality and the police they are the extra ears and eyes of the neighborhood. If they come across an unsafe situation while walking, they pass it on to the municipality and the police. They also report if things are not right. For example, if the lights are not on, the street
is broken, bushes are too high or there is dirt on the street. This makes the neighborhood safer and more livable.
