Housing offensive: new construction project Centro Meta in full swing

In the center of Kerkrade, work is underway on new housing development Centro Meta. There will be 14 lifetime homes, 21 town houses and an apartment complex with 23 apartments.

Centro Meta is a large new construction project around Einder Street and Eldorado in downtown. The project consists of a mix of housing for different target groups. From life-proof semi-bungalows, town houses to comfortable residential apartments. All houses and apartments will be nearly energy neutral and thus have low energy consumption. There will also be a lot of greenery in this new neighborhood.

Own house bricklaying

Construction work is already in full swing. On Friday, July 21, project developer HVG Real Estate invited everyone who has already bought a home to a festive moment. The future residents were allowed to come and take a look at the construction site where their new home is under construction. Other people interested in the project were also welcome.
The new residents, dressed in a vest and construction helmet, were allowed to symbolically brick a stone of their future home. They were also able to meet their future neighbors.

Alderman Tim Weijers (Housing, Spatial Planning) attended. "It's great to put the municipality's housing offensive into practice in so many different places in Kerkrade together with developers. Because good homes in a nice living environment are also being built here. Homes where there is a need. And that the homes in the Centro Meta project fall within that category is clear: sales are going incredibly fast!"

Completion as of 2024

If all goes according to plan, the first townhouses and lifetime homes will be delivered to the new owners starting in the first quarter of 2024. The apartments will follow later, these will be rented out.
