The municipality of Kerkrade is responsible for Health to its (vulnerable) residents.

This concerns:

youth services (Youth Act);
the individual assistance and support at home of almost all people with disabilities, addictions, psychiatric or chronic illnesses (Social Support Act/WMO);
supporting people in finding (adapted) work and receiving income (Participation Act).

The Advisory Council thinks actively about the development and implementation of policy in the above-mentioned areas. With respect to the Participation Act, the Advisory Council hereby limits itself to matters related to the WMO and/or the Youth Act.

As a partner in Samen Leven Kerkrade, the Advisory Council encourages partners to base their work on the interests and wishes of the customer. In doing so, the Advisory Council also encourages timely and clear communication with both customers and all Kerkrade residents.

Members of the Advisory Council include the Seniorenraad Kerkrade, the Clients' Council SWI Kerkrade, the Sportstichting Kerkrade, client councils of health care providers and the Steunpunt Mantelzorg Parkstad/Ruggesteun.
