Support Services, Day Programs, and Residential Care (Wmo)

Sometimes you can no longer manage everything on your own—for example, due to old age, illness, a disability, or mental health issues. In such cases, the municipality can provide support through the Social Support Act (Wmo). 

Would you like assistance from the municipality? If so, you must first file a Wmo report. You can find out how to do this on the page “Help and Health s through the Wmo.”

Are you eligible for support services, day programs, or respite care under the Wmo? If so, you can choose from various care providers with whom the municipality has a contract. We have listed these care providers for you on this page.  

What kind of care can you get from these healthcare providers?

Guidance

Support services are designed to help you continue living as independently as possible. A support worker can, for example, help you with:

  • adding structure to your day;
  • planning and organizing;
  • social interactions;
  • meetings with agencies;
  • administration and practical matters;
  • coping with stress or mental health issues;
  • skills needed to live independently. 

Daytime Activity

Day programs provide structure to your day and help you stay active. You participate in activities and meet other people. If necessary, transportation may be available. 

Daytime activities can help with:

  • maintaining social contacts;
  • structure and regularity;
  • exercise and physical activity;
  • developing skills;
  • support for people with dementia;
  • preventing loneliness;
  • providing relief for family caregivers. 

Overnight Care

Does an informal caregiver take care of you every day? If so, you can stay somewhere else temporarily if, for example, your caregiver is sick or goes on vacation. 

This way, your caregiver can get some rest, and your care will continue to be well organized. 

Help Close to Home

Support is organized as close to home as possible. The municipality works together with the social services organization IMPULS, healthcare providers, and volunteers to achieve this. This ensures that your concerns are addressed quickly and that you receive the support that suits your needs at the right time.
