Help and Health through the Wmo

What is it?

If you can no longer do everything yourself due to illness, disability or old age, the municipality can help you. The municipality will look for a solution together with you. Sometimes this means that you try to change your situation yourself. In other cases the municipality gives you specific help.

Assistance is designed to help you continue to do as much as possible for yourself. Consider:

  • do your own housework
  • moving in and around your home
  • moving around your area with a means of transportation
  • normal use of your home
  • meet other people

How does it work?

The municipality can give you different kinds of help. First, the municipality considers whether you can solve your problem yourself. You can, for example, get help from family, friends and acquaintances. The municipality will also see if a general assistance service can help you. Think of a handyman service, shopping service or wheelchair pool.

If this is not enough, the municipality can give you individual help, such as:

  • domestic help
  • A wheelchair or a modification to your wheelchair
  • collective transportation, a mobility scooter or a modification to your car
  • aids or adaptations in your home
  • guidance
  • shelter
  • assisted living

The municipality can also give you a sum of money. You can then pay for the help you need yourself.

A Wmo facility is subject to a co-payment. You never pay more than the cost price (including maintenance contracts). This is determined and collected by the CAK. Your own contribution in 2024 is a maximum of € 21 per month. This depends on your age and living situation. You can find more information at www.hetcak.nl.

Can't report online?

Need help filling out the report?

You can then choose someone you know well.

Is there no one who can help you? Then engage a Thinker. A Thinker is someone who thinks with you and helps you get your questions clear.

For help in choosing the right compassionate person, please call 06 28 29 29 21

This number is available Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Outside of these times, you can leave your name and phone number to be called back.

How long does it take?

After the examination, you will know what you can do to solve your problem.

After you report to the municipality, the municipality has 6 weeks to investigate. You will receive a report on the results of the investigation and the solution the municipality intends to offer you. Then you can submit an application. Within 2 weeks of the application, you will be notified if you qualify.

What does it cost?

There is no charge for applying for assistance. If you are assigned a customized service, you may have to pay a co-payment.

The Central Administration Office (CAK) calculates whether you have to pay a co-payment for the Health you receive and how high this contribution is. You will also receive the bill from CAK for paying the co-payment.

A subscription rate of €20.60 per month will apply in 2024.
