3. You keep a cool head
Is it very hot outside? Then Health well for yourself and others
- Offer children something to drink every hour, and bring a water bottle with you when you're on the go. You can refill it at the WML water fountains along the way.
- Apply sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher to yourself and your children every 2 hours.
- Health for a cap, a hat, a parasol, and a pair of sunglasses.
- Wear light, breathable clothing that covers your shoulders.
- Keep the windows and curtains closed when the sun is shining.
- Open windows and doors in the evening and in the morning when it's cooler outside than inside.
- Stay in the shade during the hottest part of the afternoon, or find a cool spot to relax for a while.
- Is the bedroom too hot? Sleep in a cooler place if possible. Let children fall asleep in a cooler place and then move them to their beds once it has cooled down a bit.
