2021 Ribbon Race
On the occasion of King's Day, three Kerkrade residents received Royal Awards, or "ribbons," on Monday morning, April 26.
The awards were presented at City Hall by Mayor Petra Dassen-Housen.
Mr. C.A.J. (Chris) Lindelauf has been appointed Knight of the Order of Orange-Nassau.

He has dedicated himself for many years as a volunteer at tennis association ATIVU and as a (head) association delegate and Member District Working Group on Tournaments and Events at the KNLTB. He was also involved in the organization of the Limburg Tennis Masters as a volunteer for many years. In addition, Mr. Lindelauf volunteers at St. Ursula Elementary School, where he has had many duties and responsibilities for twenty years. Read more
Mr. J.H.J. (Jo) van Duin was appointed Member in the Order of Orange-Nassau.

He has been volunteering for the R.C. Parish of St. John the Baptist since 1970. Over the years he has performed various functions and organized many activities. As a high mass acolyte, he is still active every Sunday as a supporter of the parish priest.
In addition to his activities for the parish, Mr. Van Duin has been active as a volunteer with Harmonie St. Caecilia in Eygelshoven since 1990. Read more
Mr. C.E.J. (Kees) van Veen was appointed Member in the Order of Orange-Nassau.

For more than twenty years, Mr. Van Veen has filled the position of secretary at Fanfare Abdissenbosch and is committed to the association in various ways.
In addition, Mr. Van Veen has been a volunteer with Amnesty International since December 2003.
In 2011, he founded the Amnesty working group Parkstad-Limburg.
Mr. Van Veen is also active as a volunteer docent with Living Room Project De Residentie. Read more
