Informal caregivers provide long-term, unpaid care for a family member or acquaintance who needs help. This usually involves Health for persons with a long-term illness, disability or advanced age.

Do you care for a partner, friend, child, neighbor? Then you can ask if you can be guided and helped in performing this heavy task. This also applies to children who care for a family member, for example. They too can and may ask for help and support.

You can contact the Support Center for Mantel Care for information and support. They can take care of arranging things for you, such as applying for a pgb. Sometimes they also arrange practical help with informal care. This is also called respite care.

Did you know that as an informal caregiver you can also receive reimbursement from the supplemental health insurance? For more information and a reimbursement overview, visit the Independer website.
