Declarations of support

A statement of support is a written declaration in which residents indicate that they support a party's participation in the elections.

When is a declaration of support required?

A declaration of support is required in order to participate in municipal elections as a political party.

Submitting a statement of support works as follows:

The party for which you wish to complete the declaration will provide you with the 'Declaration of Support' form. This form includes the party's list of candidates. It is this form: model H 4.
Complete sections 1, 2, and 3 of this form.
Fill in the support statement. Please note: do not sign it yet. You will do this at the counter in the municipal office, in the presence of a civil servant.
Between January 19 and February 2, 2026, residents can submit their declaration at the Citizen Service Center. This can be done Monday through Thursday between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. and on Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. No appointment is necessary.
Bring the completed support statement with you, containing the full list of candidates. Health that you have valid identification with you.
After checking the details, you will sign the form at the counter. This will be done in the presence of a civil servant.
You may only sign one declaration of support. A declaration of support cannot be withdrawn.
