Court of Auditors Kerkrade
Tasks Court of Auditors Kerkrade
In order to best carry out its monitoring task, the municipal council has had a Court of Auditors since the council meeting of October 2022.
The task of the Kerkrade Court of Auditors is to investigate whether the municipal government implements the agreed policies lawfully (i.e. in accordance with applicable laws and regulations), efficiently (i.e. at the lowest possible cost) and effectively (i.e. with the desired effect).
The working method of the Court
The Kerkrade Court of Auditors may conduct an investigation on its own initiative. The town council can submit a request for an investigation to the Court of Auditors. The Court of Audit can also call on the citizens of Kerkrade to propose research topics. However, the Court of Auditors has its own independent position and responsibility. The investigation area of the Court of Auditors covers all municipal bodies. Members of the Municipal Executive and municipal officials are obliged to provide information if requested by the committee. Each investigation concludes by issuing a report to the council.
How is the committee composed?
The Kerkrade Court of Auditors consists of three external members, including one chairman. The chairman and members are appointed by the council. The normal term of office for both chairman and members is six years.
The composition of the committee is as follows:
- Dhr. Mr. Drs. S. Hannen (voorzitter)
- Dhr. Mr. Drs. Ing. J.M.A.R. van der Broek (lid)
- Dhr. R.H.T. van Beusekom (lid)
The Kerkrade Court of Audit is officially supported by its secretary in the person of Daisy Broeders. She can be reached via the general telephone number 14 045 or e-mail gemeentehuis@kerkrade.nl
