Split house

What is it?

As a homeowner, you can split your property. This allows you to convert the space into multiple apartments. If you want to do this, you need a permit from the municipality.

How does it work?

The municipality determines whether you may split your property. In doing so, it takes into account:

  • the distribution of housing in the municipality
  • Splitting the property should not interfere with urban renewal
  • Whether the property is suitable for splitting

What to do.

  • You apply for the permit from the municipality.
  • Sometimes you also need an environmental permit. For example, if you are going to remodel.

What do I need?

  • a division plan
  • an appraisal report
