Parking permits, subscriptions and waivers.

In Kerkrade, residents, visitors and business owners can qualify for a variety of parking permits, subscriptions and waivers. Click on the categories below for more information and to arrange your application directly online.

Parking permit for residents and business owners

Residents and business owners may qualify for a parking permit, which allows parking 24/7 in the paid parking area.

Effective January 1, 2021, all residents and business owners must reapply for their parking permit or waiver each year. If you do not reapply, we will not send you a new permit.

For residents, they must live in the area. For business owners, if the business is located in the paid parking area, the car is necessary for the proper functioning of the business and therefore must be able to park in close proximity.

  • Zone 1: In the immediate center, a parking permit costs €183.00 per year.
  • Zone 2: In the area surrounding the city center, a parking permit costs €120.00 per year.
  • Zone 3: In Eygelshoven, a parking permit costs €31.00 per year.
  • Zone 4: For the parallel road to Kerkradersteenweg, a parking permit costs €120.00 per year.
  • Stakeholder permits 24/7, cost €183.00 per year. The stakeholder permit is valid 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at the following locations:
    • Rolducker Street, between house number 36 and O.L. Vrouwestraat;
    • Anselderlaan, near house number 96;
    • Thorbecke Court
  • At the following locations, the stakeholder permit is only valid on Saturdays between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. This permit costs €31.00 per year:
    • Pastor Steven Street;
    • Smal Weide parking lot (corner of Torenstraat);

A total of two parking permits may be applied for per address.

In the situation where one can park several cars on one's own property, such as in a driveway or garage, then one is not eligible for a permit. In the situation that one car can be parked on private property, then one more parking permit in the public space may be applied for at this address.

Parking permit for family caregivers: the Family Caregiver Vignette

Registered informal caregivers can apply for a parking permit under certain Requirements . This so-called Mantelzorgersvignet allows parking at a reduced rate at the home of the person to whom informal care is provided.

Informal caregivers are eligible for this if the person receiving informal care lives in the paid parking area in Kerkrade, the informal caregiver is registered with the Support Center for Informal Caregivers Parkstad Limburg and the informal caregiver provides unpaid Health for more than 3 months and more than 8 hours per week.

An informal caregiver badge costs €33.70 per year.

Subscription for parking in parking garages

A subscription can be requested for parking in the parking garages. The cost of a subscription in the Orlando or Wijngracht parking garages is €52.55 per month.

In Kerkrade, these are the public parking garage Orlandopassage, where one can rent a non-reserved parking space, and the private parking garage Wijngracht, where a fixed space is assigned.

Parking waiver Blue Zone for residents and business owners

Residents who cannot park on their own property and business owners who can demonstrate that they need the car several times a day to properly run their business, such as by having a delivery service, may qualify for a parking waiver.

Effective January 1, 2021, all residents and business owners must reapply for their parking waivers each year. If you do not reapply, we will not send you a new waiver.

The cost of a parking permit is €51.40 per year. The permit is linked to the permit holder and is issued based on the license plate number, with a maximum of two permits per address or company.

Parking waiver Locht

During Roda JC home games, the Locht is closed to traffic at the end of the game. If you are a resident of the Locht, you can apply for a free dispensation so that you can still drive in.

Parking waiver prohibited area

If you own a plot of land in an area that is closed to traffic (including cars), you can apply for an exemption (sign C1, closed to traffic). It is also possible to apply for an exemption for a no-entry sign (sign C2). This exemption costs €51.40 per year.

If you are a company that needs to carry out work in the center of Kerkrade for a longer period of time, it is possible to apply for a general exemption. If you are carrying out this work on behalf of the municipality, you can indicate this to your contact person. This exemption costs €51.40 per year.
